We’re looking for a proactive and motivated Open Pit Mine Geologist to join our Murchison Operations on a permanent 8:6 roster. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on fieldwork, thrives in an active open‑pit environment, and wants to contribute to efficient, safe, and productive mining operations.


About the Role

As a Mine Geologist, you’ll play a key role in guiding daily mining activities through accurate geological input and strong collaboration with our technical and operational teams. From ore control and in‑pit mapping to drilling, reconciliation, and data validation, your work will directly support safe extraction and high‑quality ore delivery.

This role offers a great blend of fieldwork and technical work, along with the chance to grow your skills in a supportive team environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver core open‑pit geological work, including ore block design, ore mark‑ups, and blast movement adjustments to support efficient and accurate mining.
  • Track, record, and validate daily ore and waste movements to ensure data accuracy and operational compliance.
  • Contribute to weekly planning and scheduling for in‑pit geological activities, working closely with the technical and operational teams.
  • Carry out detailed in‑pit geological mapping to support ongoing interpretation and pit optimisation.
  • Support grade control and exploration drilling programs, including geological interpretation for current and future open‑pit areas.
  • Complete high‑quality geological logging of RC chips and diamond core.
  • Assist with reconciliation, wall mapping, and QAQC requirements to maintain geological integrity and operational performance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology.
  • Ideally 1+ years’ experience as an Open Pit Mine Geologist.
  • Experience with Leapfrog or similar software.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to build collaborative working relationships.
  • A can‑do, team‑oriented attitude.
  • Commitment to maintaining a proactive and safe working environment.
  • Current National Police Clearance.
  • C Class Manual Drivers License
